Cashier (Retail) – Swakopmund

About the role

The main purpose of the job is to provide exceptional customer service at the point of sale, thereby maximising selling opportunities and minimising risk to the business. The Cashier will efficiently handle till procedures, ensure accurate transactions, and maintain the security of cash while assisting customers purchasing building materials.

Key responsibilities

• Greeting customers warmly and courteously as they approach the checkout.
• Ringing up purchases, scanning items accurately, and accepting various forms of payment.
• Issuing precise receipts and ensuring customers receive correct change.
• Balancing the till at the end of each shift and reporting any discrepancies.
• Representing the company by upholding its values and promoting a positive culture.

Required profile

• Grade 12 qualification.
• Proficient in English.
• Available to work retail hours, including weekends and public holidays.
• Helpful and polite attitude towards customers.
• Knowledge of building material products (advantageous).
• 2–3 years of cashier experience (advantageous).
• Basic computer skills.
