About the role
The Namibia Tourism Board is seeking an Accounts Clerk – Payables to manage the procure‑to‑pay process, ensure accurate vendor payments, and support cash‑flow management.
Key responsibilities
- Receive, verify and process vendor invoices, performing two‑ or three‑way matching against purchase orders and goods receipts.
- Execute payment cycles (checks, EFT, wires), schedule early payments for discounts and adhere to vendor terms.
- Reconcile the accounts payable ledger with supplier statements, investigate discrepancies and resolve disputes.
- Review staff reimbursements and travel expense reports for policy compliance.
- Maintain segregation of duties, vendor master data integrity and support internal and external audits.
- Mentor junior finance staff and prepare AP aging, accrual, DPO and turnover reports for month‑end close.
Required profile
- Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
- At least 2 years of experience in junior accounting or receivables support, or a recent graduate with strong academic background.
- Strong attention to detail, numerical accuracy and good written and verbal communication skills.
Required skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (formulas, pivot tables).
- Experience with accounting systems such as SAP, QuickBooks or Sage.
