Senior Construction Manager – Etango Mine Project

About the role

Wood is seeking a Senior Construction Manager to lead on‑site activities at the Etango Mine, a new 8 mtpa uranium operation located 35 km from Swakopmund. You will act as the company’s field representative, ensuring construction is delivered safely, on schedule, and to client specifications.

Key responsibilities

• Review and confirm the site Man Power Plan (MPP) with construction management.
• Organise, administer and control construction activities in line with company and client requirements.
• Maintain strict health, safety and environmental compliance, adhering to the OHSA Act and HSE policies.
• Ensure contractors follow the latest Approved for Construction (AFC) drawings, specifications, QCPs and procedures.
• Prepare and verify accurate Daily Diaries and submit progress reports.
• Assist the Construction Manager with reporting, attend progress meetings, and act as deputy during absences.
• Review contractors’ method statements, risk assessments and ensure site security.
• Manage technical queries (TQs), advance revision notifications (ARNs) and maintain AFC drawing registers.
• Monitor contractor productivity to meet or exceed project targets.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in construction management, preferably in mining or large‑scale civil projects.
• Strong knowledge of contract requirements, health & safety legislation and HSE best practices.
• Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and communicate effectively with clients, contractors and internal stakeholders.
• Demonstrated competence in reviewing technical documentation and managing site security.
