Credit Manager – Northern Retail Portfolio

About the role

The Credit Manager (North) will be responsible for managing and monitoring Nedbank's Northern retail credit portfolio. This role ensures prudent credit risk management, supports sustainable business growth, and maintains regulatory compliance while providing sound credit recommendations.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the retail credit portfolio to maintain asset quality and adhere to approved risk parameters.
• Assess, analyse and evaluate credit applications and make recommendations to mandate holders.
• Conduct periodic credit reviews and monitor existing facilities to identify emerging risks.
• Identify, classify and manage problem exposures in line with Bank of Namibia guidelines and internal policies.
• Validate customer information and ensure completeness and accuracy of credit submissions.
• Partner with Retail Sales teams to facilitate quality lending and support business growth objectives.
• Prepare accurate and timely management reports for senior management, board committees and regulators.
• Provide credit risk advisory services to internal stakeholders and contribute to policy development.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Economics, Finance or a related field.
• Minimum five years of banking experience in credit risk or credit management, including at least two years exercising a delegated credit mandate.
• Demonstrated knowledge of credit principles, credit risk assessment methodologies and financial statement analysis.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and judgement abilities.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively, with excellent stakeholder management.
