Junior Economist

About the role

IDinsight is seeking a Junior Economist to join its evaluation team. The role focuses on coding, data quality, and statistical analysis to support evidence‑based development projects across Africa and Asia. Candidates can be based in Dakar, Nairobi, Lusaka, Rabat, Manila, or Delhi.

Key responsibilities

• Design evaluation studies, including sample‑size calculations and random assignment schemes.
• Program digital data‑collection tools such as SurveyCTO questionnaires.
• Manage and clean datasets, ensuring high data quality throughout the project lifecycle.
• Conduct statistical analyses using Stata or R to generate actionable insights.
• Create clear visualizations (graphs, charts, maps) to communicate findings to clients.
• Review and quality‑check code written by team members.

Required profile

• Strong interest in development economics and impact evaluation.
• Work authorization in Senegal, Kenya, Zambia, Morocco, the Philippines, or India.
• Fluency in English; French is a plus.
