Registered Nurse – Operating Theatre

About the role

Mediclinic is seeking a Registered Nurse specialised in the Operating Theatre to deliver safe, comprehensive, and high‑quality nursing care. You will work within a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes and a positive surgical experience.

Key responsibilities

• Provide quality nursing care in collaboration with a multi‑professional team.
• Identify, prevent and manage risks to ensure patient safety.
• Facilitate a positive patient experience by creating a conducive environment.
• Maintain accurate and comprehensive records of all nursing interventions.
• Create a learning environment that builds staff competence.
• Ensure all utilised stock and equipment are accurately charged.

Required profile

• Degree or Diploma in General Nursing (essential).
• Midwifery qualification or postgraduate certificate/diploma in a relevant speciality (desired).
• No minimum experience required; 1 year postgraduate experience in a specialised unit is preferred.

Required skills

• Infection prevention and control.
• Pharmacology knowledge.
• Nursing record keeping and patient assessment.
• Nursing processes and procedures, including care‑plan development.
• Computer literacy (Microsoft Office).
• Basic life support training (ACLS, ATLS, PALS).
• Risk identification and relevant nursing legislation awareness.
