Senior Planner (Mining & Engineering)

About the role

The client seeks an experienced Senior Planner to develop, integrate, maintain and control the project schedule for a large‑scale mining project from engineering through to hand‑over. The role sits within the Owner's Team and works closely with EPC/EPCM contractors, consultants and suppliers to ensure schedule accuracy and delivery commitments.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, maintain and manage the integrated master schedule across engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning and hand‑over.
• Review contractor and consultant schedules for alignment with project milestones, logic and sequencing.
• Monitor critical‑path activities, identify constraints and propose mitigation measures.
• Facilitate planning, progress review and coordination meetings with project teams and stakeholders.
• Support procurement by reviewing tender and long‑lead equipment delivery schedules.
• Provide planning oversight during construction, risk identification and recovery planning.
• Prepare schedule updates, forecasting reports, critical‑path analyses and management reports.

Required profile

• Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, Quantity Surveying or related discipline.
• Minimum 15 years of planning and scheduling experience in mining, minerals processing, infrastructure or heavy industrial projects.
• Proven experience within Owner's Team, EPC, EPCM or large‑scale construction environments.
• Advanced proficiency in Primavera P6, including critical‑path analysis and forecasting.
• Strong knowledge of project controls, earned value management and schedule risk analysis.
