Senior Civil Engineer – Owner’s Team – Mining Infrastructure

About the role

The client, a major mining project in Namibia, is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer to join the Owner’s Team. Reporting to the Project Manager, you will provide technical leadership and oversight across all civil engineering activities from design through commissioning.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and represent the Owner’s interests for all civil engineering work throughout the project lifecycle.
• Review and approve designs, drawings, specifications, calculations and other technical deliverables.
• Oversee bulk earthworks, foundations, concrete works, roads, drainage, water management and related infrastructure.
• Manage interfaces with structural, mechanical, piping, electrical, process, mining and other disciplines.
• Support procurement by developing scopes, specifications and reviewing tender submissions.
• Monitor construction performance, quality, progress and compliance with approved designs.
• Identify and mitigate civil engineering risks related to geotechnical conditions, cost, schedule and contractor performance.
• Assist with commissioning, handover and resolution of outstanding civil issues.

Required profile

• Civil Engineering degree from a recognised university.
• Professional registration or eligibility for registration; Namibian recognition advantageous.
• Minimum 15 years of relevant civil engineering experience, preferably in mining or large industrial projects.
• Proven senior‑level experience within an Owner’s Team, EPC, EPCM or major construction environment.
• Full project lifecycle experience including engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning and hand‑over.
