Maintenance Engineer

About the role

CMB.TECH is seeking a Maintenance Engineer to join its Operations & Maintenance team in Walvis Bay, Namibia. You will support the decarbonisation of shipping by maintaining hydrogen/diesel dual‑fuel engine systems and ensuring reliable, safe operations.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose and troubleshoot complex issues on hydrogen/diesel dual‑fuel engines and related systems.
• Perform routine scheduled maintenance, inspections, cleaning and calibration of equipment.
• Lead installation of new equipment or system upgrades at customer sites, adhering to safety and operational standards.
• Process and reconcile invoices, supporting accurate budget and cost control.
• Contribute to the preparation and monitoring of the section’s annual operational budget.
• Prepare and submit reports on performance, maintenance activities and incidents.
• Ensure operations and maintenance meet quality specifications.
• Coordinate contractor activities to guarantee safety, quality and contractual compliance.
• Maintain compliance with all safety, health and statutory regulations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in automotive, rail, ship service or maintenance engineering.
• Experience in green‑energy production plants is a strong advantage.
• Proven track record in multi‑disciplinary continuous‑improvement projects and R&D.
• Strong project‑management, planning and organisational abilities.
• Valid Code B/BE driver’s licence and Namibian citizenship.
