Head Enterprise Architect

About the role

Standard Bank Group is looking for a Head Enterprise Architect in Windhoek. The role defines the bank's enterprise architecture to meet business, regulatory, legal and policy requirements while simplifying its technology and application landscape, and develops a technology roadmap aligned to Group standards.

Key responsibilities

• Define and maintain the bank's target enterprise architecture aligned to business and technology strategy.
• Lead the Technology Design Authority and govern architecture decisions across the bank.
• Establish and enforce technology principles, standards, patterns and approved architectures.
• Drive technology simplification, reuse, rationalisation and retirement of legacy platforms.
• Govern solution, integration, cloud, data and emerging technology architecture across the technology estate.
• Ensure architecture decisions support security, resilience, regulatory requirements and sustainable technology investment.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or a related field.
• 8-10 years of relevant technology experience, including at least 3 years in an Enterprise or Solution Architecture role.
• Demonstrated experience in enterprise architecture, target-state architecture, technology standards, solution design and architecture governance.
• Experience across applications, integration/APIs, cloud, infrastructure, data and security.
• Experience in technology modernisation, simplification, platform rationalisation and reuse.
• Preferred: experience in banking, financial services or another complex, regulated environment.

Required skills

• TOGAF or equivalent Enterprise Architecture certification.
• Advantageous: postgraduate qualification in a relevant discipline and/or Cloud Architecture certification.
• Advantageous: working knowledge of COBIT, ITIL and DAMA.
