Chief Operating Officer

About the role

The Chief Operating Officer (COO) will lead day‑to‑day operations at Interpack Beverages’ production facilities and distribution network in Okahandja. This senior position reports to the executive team and is responsible for translating strategic goals into efficient, high‑quality manufacturing processes.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee operational planning, production scheduling and alignment with market demand.
• Drive continuous improvement, safety, and regulatory compliance across all sites.
• Manage operational budgets, cost control, forecasting and resource optimisation.
• Optimise supply chain and logistics to support regional market expansion.
• Mentor and develop operational leadership teams to build high‑performing units.

Required profile

• Proven experience in operations management within manufacturing or FMCG environments.
• Strong analytical ability to monitor KPIs, interpret data and implement evidence‑based improvements.
• Solid finance and budgeting skills, including cost management and forecasting.
• Demonstrated leadership in managing diverse teams and fostering a culture of safety and accountability.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management across functions and senior levels.
• Experience in the beverage, food or consumer goods sector, preferably in African or emerging markets.
• Relevant tertiary qualification in Business, Operations Management, Engineering or related field; MBA is a plus.
