Taxation Compliance Officer

About the role

FNB is seeking a Taxation Compliance Officer to ensure the Group complies with tax legislation and to deliver accurate tax administrative services. The role involves preparing, validating and submitting tax returns to the Namibia Revenue Agency and supporting the finance team with tax‑related matters.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, validate and submit accurate tax returns (VAT, PAYE, WHT) within statutory deadlines.
• Ensure full compliance with tax legislation, regulatory requirements and internal governance standards.
• Review tax calculations, schedules and submissions for accuracy and alignment with financial records.
• Monitor changes in tax legislation and flag potential compliance risks.
• Support responses to tax authority queries, assessments and audits.
• Process tax payments accurately and timely.
• Provide ad‑hoc support to Group Finance for financial and tax reporting.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting, Taxation or Law (Post‑Graduate Diploma in Taxation is an advantage).
• At least 3 years’ experience in tax administration, compliance or finance.
• Experience in the banking sector is a distinct advantage.
• Knowledge of tax legislation (VAT, PAYE, WHT) and tax return preparation processes.
• Familiarity with financial reconciliation, control account management and audit processes.

• Microsoft Office – Word and Excel.
• General ledger and financial systems.
• Audit and compliance documentation.
