Store Manager

About the role

The Store Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of store operations, ensuring that sales, expense and profit targets are met while delivering an excellent customer experience.

Key responsibilities

• Achieve monthly gross profit and turnover targets and prepare related budgets.
• Control operational expenses, maintain salary cost ratios, and monitor expense budgets against actual turnover.
• Ensure the store holds the full merchandise range, display items according to sales and promotional plans, and liaise with the Merchandise Division on stock, pricing and layouts.
• Maintain appropriate stock levels, monitor merchandise movement, and manage discontinuation or suspension of stock as needed.
• Conduct daily counts and audits, oversee high‑risk stock checks, provide training on shrinkage procedures, and ensure accurate register handling.
• Implement sales promotions, coordinate with suppliers, manage promotional signage, set pricing, and execute weekly promotional leaflets.
• Train staff in customer service and product knowledge, handle complaints promptly, and ensure after‑sales service meets company standards.
• Enforce company policies, working‑condition regulations, and fair‑treatment practices in line with industrial relations guidelines.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing a retail store and meeting sales, expense and profit objectives.
• Strong ability to prepare and control budgets, monitor expenses and maintain salary cost ratios.
• Knowledge of merchandise planning, stock management and product performance analysis.
• Experience in shrinkage control, audit procedures and staff training on security measures.
• Capability to coordinate promotions with suppliers and adjust pricing in response to market conditions.
• Excellent customer‑service orientation and ability to resolve complaints effectively.
• Familiarity with company policies, labor regulations and industrial‑relations practices.
