General Mobile Assessor (Motor & Non-Motor)

About the role

The General Mobile Assessor will evaluate both motor and non‑motor insurance claims for Santam’s Adjustment Services Department in Windhoek. You will conduct on‑site assessments, verify loss circumstances, negotiate settlements and ensure claims are processed within delegated authority and policy conditions.

Key responsibilities

• Assess motor and non‑motor claims against quotations and damage observations.
• Decide on repair, replacement or cash settlement within mandate.
• Arrange and conduct on‑site assessments with clients and intermediaries.
• Prepare detailed claims assessment reports and communicate outcomes.
• Determine market value of vehicles and value at risk for building claims.
• Update claims systems, upload documentation and authorize repairs with suppliers.
• Manage complaints, queries and stakeholder interactions effectively.
• Meet departmental performance targets and contribute to continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Minimum of 22 points in Grade 11 (new curriculum) or Grade 12 (old curriculum).
• Degree, diploma or certificate in Mechanical, Automotive or related technical field.
• Short‑term Insurance qualification (Principles of Insurance).
• At least 5 years of experience assessing motor and non‑motor claims.
• Sound knowledge of commercial and personal lines insurance products.
• Valid driver’s licence and Namibian citizenship.
• Foreign qualifications must be evaluated by the Namibia Qualification Authority.

Required skills

• Intermediate proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
• Knowledge of the Abuntex claims system (advantage).
