Finance Manager – Short‑Term Insurance

About the role

Old Mutual is looking for a senior Finance Manager to lead the short‑term insurance finance function in Windhoek. The role combines strategic financial oversight with hands‑on accounting and reporting responsibilities.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver financial and management reports, including annual year‑end and interim reporting.
• Provide technical assistance to business units and liaise with key stakeholders.
• Analyse income, expenditure and profitability trends and support board reporting submissions.
• Drive business planning, forecasting and cash‑management processes.
• Ensure compliance with group accounting standards and maintain an effective financial control environment.
• Oversee tax planning, reporting and regulatory compliance across all tax types.
• Review key account reconciliations, manage risk and compliance reporting, and protect assets.
• Guide systems and process development, integrating accounting, actuarial and tax knowledge.
• Lead and develop the finance team for the business unit.

Required profile

• Namibian citizen.
• 5–8 years of finance management experience.
• NQF Level 7 tertiary qualification.
• Registered Chartered Accountant.
• Senior‑level experience managing a team.
• Short‑term insurance industry experience is beneficial.

Required skills

• Professional accounting work including ledgers, journal entries, fixed‑asset and inventory accounting.
• Preparation of trial balances, financial statements and cost accounting.
• Bank account reconciliation and cash‑management reporting.
• Tax planning, reporting and regulatory compliance.
• Financial reporting, management reporting and board reporting.
• Business planning, forecasting and financial control.
• Risk and compliance reporting.
• Systems and process development for finance functions.
