Finance Clerk

About the role

The Finance Clerk provides essential support to the finance team by handling day‑to‑day accounting tasks, maintaining accurate records, and assisting with cash flow and statutory obligations. This role is ideal for candidates with a solid foundation in accounting principles and a keen eye for detail.

Key responsibilities

• Process accounts payable and receivable transactions, capturing invoices, receipts and payments accurately.
• Prepare and issue customer invoices and perform daily, weekly and monthly reconciliations (bank, creditor, debtor).
• Maintain organised and up‑to‑date financial records and filing systems, ensuring all supporting documentation is complete and authorised.
• Assist with audit preparation by providing requested documentation.
• Support cash‑flow monitoring, prepare bank deposits, payment schedules and reconcile bank statements.
• Assist with payroll data preparation and verification, and support statutory submissions such as VAT, PAYE and Social Security.
• Help the Financial Controller with month‑end processes and handle finance‑related queries from internal and external stakeholders.
• Perform other finance‑related duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Grade 12 / National Senior Certificate (Accounting preferred).
• Certificate or diploma in Accounting, Finance, or Bookkeeping – advantageous.
• 1–3 years’ experience in a finance or accounting role.
• Basic knowledge of accounting principles.
• High level of integrity and confidentiality.

• Basic proficiency in MS Excel and accounting software.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
