About the role
The Employee Relations Consultant will provide expert advice and support to ensure constructive relationships between the organisation and its employees, while maintaining compliance with labour legislation. Working closely with line managers, trade unions and internal stakeholders, the role contributes to a positive workplace culture.
Key responsibilities
- Investigate and propose solutions for complex or contentious employee relations cases in partnership with line managers.
- Coordinate organisational responses to legal cases and assist in preparing legal submissions.
- Manage relationships with employee representative organisations, including senior trade‑union representatives and works council members.
- Provide high‑quality professional services to internal clients to support business strategy and plans.
- Offer specialist advice on policy interpretation, resolve queries and refer highly complex issues as needed.
- Contribute to drafting policies, procedures and guidelines ensuring compliance with external requirements.
- Engage stakeholders by identifying needs, arranging meetings and preparing briefing materials.
- Prepare and edit documents according to organisational style and support publication.
- Conduct research and analyse primary data to identify key trends.
Required profile
- Proven experience handling complex employee relations or labour law matters.
- Strong knowledge of applicable labour laws and regulations.
- Ability to build effective relationships with trade unions, works councils and internal stakeholders.
- Excellent analytical, investigative and communication skills.
- Experience drafting policies, procedures and briefing papers.
