Crane Operator (2 positions) – Material Handling, Walvis Bay

About the role

Wesbank Transport is seeking two experienced crane operators for material handling at its Walvis Bay depot serving a mine site. The role involves operating, inspecting, and maintaining cranes to ensure safe and efficient operations.

Key responsibilities

• Operate the crane safely and efficiently according to work instructions.
• Conduct daily pre‑trip inspections, cleaning of crane components and ensure the crane is level.
• Pre‑inspect job sites and terrain with the rigger to confirm appropriate crane size.
• Report all accidents or incidents to the supervisor immediately.
• Stop work in unsafe conditions and notify the site manager.
• Perform minor electrical and mechanical repairs on the crane.
• Assist with any additional duties as required by supervision.

Required profile

• Namibian citizen with a Grade 12 qualification.
• Valid crane operator’s card and a minimum of 3 years crane operating experience.
• Valid Code C1 driver’s licence.
• Excellent eyesight and a recent police clearance (not older than 3 months).
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong problem‑solving and attention‑to‑detail skills.
