Electrical Engineer – Building Services & Infrastructure

About the role

A well‑established engineering consultancy in Windhoek is looking for an experienced Electrical Engineer to design, coordinate and oversee building‑services and infrastructure systems across a wide range of commercial, residential, healthcare, industrial and mixed‑use projects.

Key responsibilities

• Design MV/LV distribution, lighting, generators, UPS, fire & life‑safety, lightning protection, communications and security systems.
• Design HV/MV networks, substations, protection & switching, reticulation, street lighting and earthing.
• Prepare drawings, layouts, schematics, specifications and technical documentation.
• Coordinate designs with architects, structural and mechanical engineers, planners, clients and authorities.
• Review contractor submissions, shop drawings and material approvals.
• Conduct site inspections, support testing, commissioning, snagging and final handover.
• Ensure compliance with applicable standards, regulations and contractual requirements.

Required profile

• BSc (Hons), BEng or BTech in Electrical, Electronic or Mechatronic Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years consulting engineering experience.
• Professional or Incorporated Engineer registration with ECN or ECSA.
• Valid driver’s licence.

Required skills

• Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, ETAP, DigSILENT, ReticMaster and Relux.
• Working knowledge of FIDIC, JBCC and GCC contract frameworks.
