Associate Litigation Attorney (Commercial & High Court)

About the role

We are seeking a motivated Associate Litigation attorney to join our commercial litigation team. The role involves handling High Court and arbitration matters, providing legal advice across civil and administrative law, and supporting business development initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Draft pleadings, notices, affidavits, settlement agreements and client correspondence.
• Provide legal opinions and advice on commercial, civil and administrative law issues.
• Conduct client consultations, interview witnesses and prepare for High Court and arbitration proceedings.
• Participate in procurement‑related tribunals and prepare related reports.
• Negotiate settlements and manage dispute resolution processes.
• Maintain case files, electronic time‑keeping and general practice administration.
• Contribute to business development by preparing internal newsflashes, articles and tender documentation.

Required profile

• Admitted attorney with 1‑3 years post‑admission experience in commercial litigation, preferably with High Court exposure.
• Post‑graduate LLB with strong academic record.
• Experience in a demanding environment, such as a large law firm, is advantageous.
• Client‑focused with strong communication and relationship‑building abilities.
• Ability to work independently, meet fee budgets and perform under time pressure.
• Commitment to high‑quality work and teamwork.
