Private Banker – Rural Portfolio

About the role

As a Private Banker for a rural portfolio, you will proactively optimise a portfolio of wealth clients, addressing their financial needs while ensuring profitability and client retention. You will act as the primary relationship contact, driving growth and delivering tailored banking solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Own and manage a portfolio of private clients, accountable for growth, retention, and profitability.
• Identify and capitalise on opportunities to expand the client base with profitable private clients.
• Analyse clients' financial circumstances to position FNB as their primary banking partner.
• Recommend lending, transactional, investment, and other FNB solutions, coordinating with specialists as needed.
• Manage credit and portfolio risk while delivering appropriate lending solutions.
• Conduct regular outbound engagement and travel to meet geographically dispersed rural clients.
• Build effective relationships with internal stakeholders to coordinate end‑to‑end solutions.

Required profile

• Relevant industry qualification or a Commerce degree.
• 3 to 5 years of experience in a client‑facing banking environment, preferably private, business or commercial banking.
• Strong relationship‑management skills with a customer‑focused mindset.
• Ability to work independently, take accountability for results, and manage a dispersed portfolio.
