Sales & Marketing Representative – Education Sector

About the role

Springer Nature’s Macmillan Education division is seeking a driven Sales & Marketing Representative to expand its presence across Namibia. Based in Windhoek, the role involves travelling nationally to promote print and digital educational products to schools, colleges, booksellers and education authorities.

Key responsibilities

• Promote and sell a range of print and digital products to targeted schools, TVET colleges, booksellers, private and national schools, education officials and librarians.
• Achieve or exceed annual turnover and product sales targets.
• Maintain existing adoptions while identifying new business opportunities within the territory.
• Research and engage key decision‑makers, building strong stakeholder relationships.
• Apply a needs‑based sales methodology to close sales effectively.
• Represent the company at exhibitions and industry events, ensuring timely follow‑up and CRM updates.
• Monitor competitor activity, market developments and provide market intelligence to support publishing and marketing strategies.
• Resolve customer queries and complaints within 24 hours and submit weekly reports, travel logs and call plans.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of experience in a sales role, preferably within education, publishing or related sectors.
• Experience engaging teachers, principals, education officials or other key decision‑makers.
• Grade 12 required; a degree or diploma in Commerce or Education is preferred.
• Strong communication, negotiation and relationship‑building abilities.
• Self‑motivated, proactive and results‑driven with excellent organisational skills.
• Good command of written and spoken English; knowledge of a local Namibian language is an advantage.
