About the role
The Graduate Teaching Assistant will support the coordination and administration of the UBC Extended Learning Health Data Analytics Micro‑certificate Program, a part‑time, fully online series of three five‑week courses for health professionals. The role involves 5‑10 hours per week and offers flexible engagement across one or more course offerings.
Key responsibilities
- Update course content on Canvas, including announcements, assignment deadlines, and Zoom office‑hour links.
- Respond to student questions in weekly Canvas discussions.
- Mark assignments using provided rubrics and record grades in the Gradebook.
- Attend weekly office hours (approximately one hour) as needed.
- Identify and document any errors or issues in course materials for future improvements.
Required profile
- Enrolled in a graduate program related to data science, health sciences, or medicine.
- Advanced knowledge of data science, statistics, and machine learning.
- Experience or education in health data analytics.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
