General Manager – Retail Operations

About the role

Old Mutual is seeking a General Manager to lead its retail operations across Namibia. The role combines operational leadership, risk oversight, and strategic transformation to deliver high‑quality, client‑centric services.

Key responsibilities

• Drive execution of operational plans through team leaders and managers.
• Monitor service delivery performance and ensure SLA compliance.
• Identify and resolve operational bottlenecks; escalate critical risks.
• Oversee end‑to‑end retail functions including new business, underwriting, money collection, policy administration, and customer experience.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements such as AML, NAMFISA and FIMA.
• Lead continuous‑improvement initiatives and business‑transformation projects to reduce costs and improve efficiency.
• Manage stakeholder relationships with internal leaders, cross‑functional teams and external partners.
• Lead, coach and develop a multidisciplinary operations team.
• Partner with IT to optimise core insurance systems, implement digital transformation and ensure business continuity.

Required profile

• Namibian citizenship.
• Tertiary qualification at NQF level 8.
• 5‑8 years of experience in the financial services sector, including management of managers.
• Strong client focus and enterprise‑innovation mindset.
• Excellent relationship, communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Proven planning, organising and technical knowledge.
• Team‑oriented attitude.
