Space Applications Expert – Earth Observation & Copernicus

About the role

NTU International is seeking a highly qualified Non‑Key Expert to support the Africa‑EU Space Partnership Programme. The expert will lead the development, deployment and uptake of Earth Observation services and applications, with a focus on Copernicus data, to address climate, environmental and development priorities across Africa.

Key responsibilities

• Design and deliver Earth Observation services and applications using Copernicus data and products.
• Support policy dialogue, knowledge exchange and capacity building with African institutions.
• Identify and promote use‑cases in early warning, climate monitoring, agriculture, water management, biodiversity and other sectors.
• Facilitate private‑sector engagement and investment in EO solutions.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to local partners for sustainable EO ecosystem development.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in geomatics, remote sensing, environmental science, meteorology, engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 8 years of professional experience in Earth Observation, geospatial services, remote sensing or climate/environmental services.
• At least 4 years of experience designing or delivering EO services, preferably with Copernicus data.
• Demonstrated experience working with African institutions or users is an asset.
• Excellent command of English; working knowledge of French and/or Portuguese is a plus.
