Senior Occupational Health Nurse

About the role

NamPower is seeking a temporary Senior Occupational Health Nurse for a 2‑month contract to deliver primary and occupational health services, emergency care, and health programme coordination within its Human Capital business unit.

Key responsibilities

• Provide occupational medical screening, assessment, treatment, referrals and maintain accurate employee medical records.
• Deliver curative services, dispense prescribed medication, monitor patient recovery and coordinate emergency response, including first aid and transport to medical facilities.
• Manage medical supplies, equipment, stock levels, procurement, record‑keeping and safe disposal of expired stock and medical waste.
• Maintain medical registers, capture occupational injury data, compile statistics and ensure compliance with relevant legislation.
• Support wellness programmes, conduct health education and awareness initiatives, and provide health‑related information to employees.

Required profile

• National Diploma in General Nursing (NQF Level 6) and registration with the Health Professions Council of Namibia.
• At least five years of nursing experience, including one year of dispensing experience.
• Valid certificates in Spirometry, Audiometry and Vision Screening; a driver’s licence is required.
• Additional qualifications such as Occupational Health Nurse Certificate and Emergency Care Practitioner‑Basic are advantageous.
