About the role
The International Rescue Committee (IRC) is seeking a Senior Manager, People and Culture to lead its HR function for the Darfur region of Sudan. This senior position will guide recruitment, staff development, performance management and employee engagement while ensuring compliance with IRC policies and safeguarding standards.
Key responsibilities
- Partner with senior leaders to identify talent needs, address competency gaps and develop workforce plans that support staff retention.
- Advise on organizational structure, position scoping and staffing analysis during proposal design and grant review meetings.
- Set recruitment strategy, build candidate pipelines and apply innovative sourcing methods.
- Review job requests and descriptions for accuracy, consistency and alignment with IRC values.
- Champion gender equality, diversity, inclusion, duty of care and safeguarding initiatives.
- Promote employee experience programs that enhance engagement, inclusion and team cohesion.
- Oversee implementation of context‑specific HR practices in recruitment, compensation, onboarding, employee relations and off‑boarding.
Required profile
- Proven senior HR leadership experience in complex, multi‑site or humanitarian settings.
- Strong understanding of recruitment, talent management, performance systems and employee engagement.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with program and operations teams.
- Commitment to IRC’s mission, values and safeguarding standards.
