Senior Crash Data Systems Expert

About the role
NTU International is looking for a senior expert to lead the design, deployment and management of integrated road crash data systems for an EU‑funded technical assistance programme supporting ECOWAS transport governance in West Africa. The role will combine data‑engineering, analytics and capacity‑building to create a region‑wide road safety monitoring platform.
Key responsibilities
- Design and implement integrated road crash data management systems across ECOWAS member states.
- Provide technical assistance on crash data collection, database architecture and interoperability frameworks.
- Integrate police, hospital, licensing, insurance and road‑infrastructure datasets into a unified platform.
- Define harmonised crash data templates, standards and analytics methodologies.
- Develop digital dashboards, reporting tools and road‑safety monitoring applications.
- Prepare technical specifications, operational procedures, analytical reports and system assessments.
- Ensure data quality, validation and evidence‑based decision‑making.
- Coordinate with transport authorities, police, health agencies, ICT providers and development partners.
- Deliver workshops, training and capacity‑building activities on crash data systems and analytics.
Required profile
- Master’s degree in information systems, transport engineering, statistics, data analytics, road safety, public health or a related field.
- At least 10 years of professional experience in road‑safety data systems, transport analytics or digital monitoring, with a minimum of 7 years focused on crash data systems.
- Proven experience on transport or road‑safety projects in developing countries, preferably Sub‑Saharan Africa.
- Background in international development cooperation and donor‑funded programmes.
