About the role
The Sales Area Manager for the North East will lead and coach a team of sales representatives to achieve sustainable volume, revenue and profit growth. This role is accountable for executing the commercial strategy, optimizing assets and ensuring operational discipline across the assigned sales area.
Key responsibilities
- Lead, coach and develop sales representatives to build a high‑performance culture.
- Drive volume, value and profitability targets across all channels and customers.
- Develop and execute channel and customer plans aligned with market opportunities.
- Identify growth opportunities through market analysis, outlet segmentation and portfolio optimisation.
- Ensure consistent execution of planograms, promotional activities and PICOS across outlets.
- Conduct regular trade visits, monitor execution standards and implement corrective actions.
- Manage sales assets for optimal placement, utilisation and accurate record‑keeping.
- Use sales systems and dashboards to translate data insights into performance improvements.
- Collaborate with Marketing, Finance, Supply Chain and other functions for integrated planning.
- Ensure compliance with labour legislation, company policies and governance standards.
Required profile
- Recognised degree in Business Administration, Marketing or a related field.
- Minimum 7 years sales experience, preferably in FMCG.
- At least 3 years in a supervisory or people‑management role.
- Proven experience managing a customer portfolio across a defined geographic area.
- Valid Code B/BE driver’s licence.
Required skills
- Solid understanding of sales systems.
- Data analysis capability.
- Performance reporting expertise.
