Team Leader (DMC/Safari/Travel)

About the role

Lead a team of Destination Specialists to deliver seamless destination management services across Southern and East Africa. You will operationalise agent requests, quote profitable tour products and continuously improve service standards.

Key responsibilities

• Quote and design creative itineraries, capture bookings and negotiate with suppliers for better rates and value‑adds.
• Manage group and series bookings, handle 24‑hour emergency support and oversee guide documentation.
• Develop and maintain agent and supplier relationships, source new products and support business growth.
• Reconcile supplier invoices, assist with invoicing/collections and manage guide expense sheets.

Required profile

• Proven leadership or team‑management experience in a Destination Management Company or Safari/Inbound travel environment.
• Strong hands‑on experience in quoting, itinerary design, costing and supplier negotiation for group travel across Africa.
• Excellent understanding of African travel destinations, logistics and supplier networks.
• Willingness to travel locally and regionally for educational trips, supplier meetings and agent hosting.

Required skills

• Solid working knowledge of Tourplan or a similar travel booking system.
