About the role
Mediclinic is seeking a Level 1 Pharmacist to join its hospital pharmacy team. The role focuses on delivering professional, cost‑effective pharmaceutical services to in‑hospital patients and the public, ensuring safe and timely access to medicines.
Key responsibilities
- Maintain the availability of medicines and scheduled substances for stores and the public.
- Accurately dispense prescriptions and other pharmaceutical products.
- Manage efficient stock holding, including controlled substances.
- Support financial management and ethical stock control practices.
Required profile
- Essential education: B Pharm, B Sc Pharm or Dip Pharm.
- Desired experience: 1–3 years in a hospital pharmacy, particularly in stock management and distribution.
- Knowledge of relevant pharmacy legislation (Pharmacy Act, Good Pharmacy Practice, Medicine Control Act).
Required skills
- Proficiency with pharmacy systems such as UNISOLV and AS400.
- Computer literacy, especially Microsoft Office.
- Understanding of clinical pharmacy, antimicrobial stewardship and medical aid formularies.
