IT Technician

About the role

Future Media, owner of Namibia's five national radio stations and OneAfrica television station, is looking for a motivated, technically skilled and service-oriented IT Technician in Windhoek. The role covers technical support, maintenance of IT equipment and systems, troubleshooting of hardware and software issues, and keeping the organisation's IT infrastructure running smoothly. The position is full-time.

Key responsibilities

• Provide first- and second-line technical support to users, including first-line support on broadcasting/AOIP networks.
• Install, configure and maintain computers, laptops, printers and other IT equipment.
• Troubleshoot hardware, software, network and connectivity issues.
• Support LAN, Wi-Fi, routers, switches and basic network infrastructure.
• Manage user accounts, permissions, password resets and access control.
• Assist with Microsoft 365 administration, email and related services.
• Perform software installations, updates, system maintenance and security patching.
• Monitor system performance and assist with backup and recovery.
• Maintain IT asset registers, technical documentation and support records.
• Escalate complex issues and ensure compliance with IT security policies.

Required profile

• Grade 12 certificate or equivalent; IT qualification, diploma or technical certification is an advantage.
• Previous IT support or technician experience preferred.
• Reliable, organised, professional, able to prioritise under pressure and work independently and in a team.
• Valid driver's licence is an advantage where travel is required.

Required skills

• Good knowledge of Windows, operating systems, computer hardware and software troubleshooting.
• MacOS and basic Linux.
• Networking basics: TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, LAN and Wi-Fi.
• Familiarity with Microsoft 365 and user account administration.
