Head Enterprise Architect

About the role

The Head Enterprise Architect will define and maintain the bank’s target enterprise architecture, ensuring alignment with business, regulatory and policy requirements while simplifying the technology landscape. This senior role leads the Technology Design Authority and drives a technology roadmap that supports strategic investment and modernization.

Key responsibilities

• Define and maintain the bank’s target enterprise architecture aligned to business and technology strategy.
• Lead the Technology Design Authority and govern architecture decisions across the bank.
• Establish and enforce technology principles, standards, patterns and approved architectures.
• Drive technology simplification, reuse, rationalisation and retirement of legacy platforms.
• Govern solution, integration, cloud, data and emerging technology architecture across the estate.
• Ensure architecture decisions support security, resilience, regulatory requirements and sustainable investment.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or related field.
• 8‑10 years of relevant technology experience, including at least 3 years in an Enterprise or Solution Architecture role.
• Experience in banking, financial services or similarly complex regulated environments.
• Demonstrated experience in enterprise architecture, target‑state design, technology standards and architecture governance.

Required skills

• TOGAF or equivalent Enterprise Architecture certification.
• Working knowledge of COBIT, ITIL and DAMA.
• Experience across applications, integration/APIs, cloud, infrastructure, data and security domains.
• Proven ability in technology modernisation, platform rationalisation and reuse.
