Funded 6‑month traineeship in EU Delegation – Namibia

About the role

The EU Delegation to Namibia offers a funded six‑month traineeship within its Press, Political and Information Section. The position focuses on digital communication, media engagement and promoting EU green‑diplomacy initiatives to Namibian audiences.

Key responsibilities

• Support the Delegation’s social‑media channels – planning, drafting, publishing and monitoring content.
• Create digital assets such as graphics and short‑form videos to highlight EU policies, especially the “Trees for Tomorrow” green‑diplomacy campaign.
• Assist in organising and covering public‑diplomacy and media events, preparing communication material and on‑site reporting.
• Draft press releases, web articles, speeches and talking points.
• Conduct targeted research to ensure communication outputs are relevant to the Namibian context.
• Contribute to EU coordination tasks and political reporting as needed.

Required profile

• University degree (minimum bachelor’s) in Political Science, Communication, Journalism, Media Studies or a related field.
• Less than one year of professional experience after graduation.
• Strong written English and ability to adapt messages for different audiences.
• Interest or knowledge of environmental and climate‑related issues.
