Field Marketer

About the role

The Field Marketer is responsible for executing and monitoring merchandising strategies that drive product promotion and sales, while supporting merchandisers to maintain retail store compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Achieve planned volume sales budget and scheduled projects.
• Execute sales objectives in line with commercial and trading terms.
• Build and set up promotional displays, special bins, and other point‑of‑sale materials.
• Manage and control promotional assets and equipment.
• Report on campaign success and provide feedback for local marketing strategies.
• Visit retail locations regularly to ensure merchandising standards and monitor stock.
• Maintain correct product display, shelf space, pricing and promotional signage.
• Monitor market trends and advise on product placement.
• Negotiate with retailers for placement, promotions and shelf access.
• Prepare weekly and monthly volume forecasts.
• Monitor stock levels, ensure FIFO rotation and manage returns.
• Control cost centre in line with budget.
• Collaborate with Key Accounts, Sales Operations, Planning & Replenishment and Demand Chain teams.

Required profile

• Grade 12 qualification.
• Minimum three years’ experience in merchandising or field sales within the FMCG environment.
• Experience in FMCG is a distinct advantage.
• Valid Code B driver’s licence.
