Freight Controllers - Pro Parcel (5 positions)

About the role

FP du Toit Transport Group, founded in 1968, offers a full range of logistics services through its subsidiaries Jet.X Couriers, Pro Parcel and Wesbank Transport. Five freight controller positions are open within Pro Parcel, reporting to the Depot Manager and based in Tsumeb.

Key responsibilities

• Sort, pick, verify and pack consignments
• Scan consignments and label parcels with barcode stickers
• Load and unload vehicles efficiently, reporting any damage or anomalies to the supervisor immediately
• Keep the working area clean and neat
• Compare waybills and client documentation with freight loaded and/or delivered
• Follow health and safety regulations and security measures, including inspections and quality checks
• Carry out other general duties of a freight controller

Required profile

• Valid Grade 10/12 certificate
• 1-2 years' experience is an added advantage
• Proficiency in English and Afrikaans
• Namibian citizenship
• Police clearance certificate (not older than 3 months) with no criminal record
• Willingness to work overtime and shifts, and physically fit to handle large and heavy freight

Required skills

• Computer literacy in Microsoft Office
• Attention to detail, accuracy and reliability
• Ability to work under pressure and follow instructions
