Forensic Investigator

About the role

Standard Bank Group is looking for a Forensic Investigator in Windhoek to carry out in-depth universal forensic investigations across the Group. The role follows the Group Investigation Framework and standards so that financial crime is identified early, reducing operational losses and reputational damage.

Key responsibilities

• Capture findings and conclusions in the required reporting formats and systems, and submit investigation outcomes, trends and recommendations as prescribed by policy and procedure.
• Conduct in-depth universal forensic investigations using the Group Investigation Framework processes and methodologies, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, best practice and Group standards.
• Carry out root cause analysis of financial crime incidents to find gaps in controls and processes, recommend improvements and track their implementation.
• Monitor open-source information, industry trends and intelligence to stay aware of potential financial crime and high-risk persons or entities, contributing to the organisation's threat profile.
• Advise internal and external stakeholders on universal investigation processes and standards so business units can manage financial crime effectively.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Accounting, Forensic Accounting or a related degree.
• 3 to 5 years of experience gathering, analysing and reporting information to identify finance-related crime.
• Behavioural competencies: articulating and examining information, following procedures, interpreting data and providing insights.
