Compliance Manager (Exchange Control)

About the role

Standard Bank Group is hiring a Compliance Manager (Exchange Control) in Windhoek. The role executes compliance risk management processes and activities within a specific client segment or functional area so that the area operates in a compliant way, avoiding operational losses, fines, penalties or reputational damage and helping the organisation gain a competitive advantage.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse the operational activities within a dedicated client segment to identify compliance risks and ensure adherence to Standard Bank's compliance frameworks and standards.
• Customise and maintain generic risk management plans (RMPs) for a client segment so they fit the regulatory context.
• Fulfil the required regulatory role where dedicated compliance officers are needed, as prescribed by the relevant governing body.
• Proactively identify gaps in controls, processes and procedures and monitor remediation plans.
• Advise stakeholders on the regulatory universe, the compliance frameworks underpinning their operations and other regulatory developments.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Law or Commerce degree.
• A post-graduate qualification in compliance or risk management is advantageous.
• 3-5 years of experience with sound knowledge of the regulatory requirements and upcoming developments applicable to the client segment or business area, and a solid understanding of banking products and activities.
