Fleet Maintenance Assistant

About the role

The Fleet Maintenance Assistant will act as the bridge between the workshop and operations, ensuring that all vehicles and equipment are maintained according to company standards and SOPs. This role supports the smooth running of the distribution fleet by performing routine checks, minor repairs, and administrative tasks throughout each vehicle’s lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Perform daily inspections, tighten bolts, replace filters, belts, hoses, and check oil, grease, tyre pressure, and battery condition.
• Maintain clean and orderly workshop, washing area, and tools.
• Assist with truck returns, clean‑up, and documentation of maintenance activities.
• Follow the fleet service plan and ensure compliance with checklists and company guidelines.
• Support vehicle registration, licensing, and NATIS fitness testing processes.

Required profile

• Grade 12 qualification.
• Up to 5 years of experience in a similar vehicle maintenance environment.
• Proficient in English and Afrikaans.
• Namibian citizen or holder of a valid work permit.
• Valid C or CE driving licence.

Required skills

• Mechanical knowledge of delivery trucks ranging from 1 to 14 tons.
• Familiarity with NATIS vehicle licensing and testing procedures.
• Ability to perform basic mechanical repairs and routine maintenance tasks.
