Financial Systems Controller

About the role

The Financial Systems Controller will manage and maintain the Namibia Tourism Board’s financial IT systems, ensuring updates, data integrity and optimal performance. The role involves analysing system issues, supporting upgrades and providing technical guidance to users.

Key responsibilities

• Obtain and apply system updates from suppliers, conduct database backups and implement preventive measures.
• Validate critical updates, sign‑off with suppliers and align documentation and reporting.
• Analyse system problems, apply patches, perform retesting or reloading to resolve errors.
• Assist the ITA with upgrade implementations and conduct feasibility studies for project proposals.
• Guide users on system usage to minimise data contamination and perform parameter checks to ensure application integrity.

Required profile

• Advanced Diploma or three‑year bachelor’s degree in Programming or Computer Science (NQF level 7).
• Minimum four years IT experience, including at least two years in programming or application development.
• System analysis experience at an operational level with object‑oriented analysis and design.

Required skills

• C, Java, JavaScript, SQL, HTML.
• SharePoint and C/AL (Client/Server Application Language).
• Microsoft application development platforms (e.g., Billing, Technical, Finance).
