Driver – Transport Personnel & Materials

About the role

The International Rescue Committee (IRC) seeks a reliable Driver to support its humanitarian operations by transporting staff, visitors, documents and goods safely and efficiently across designated locations.

Key responsibilities

• Provide safe, timely transportation for IRC personnel and materials.
• Maintain and care for IRC vehicles, including 4x4s and manual‑gear models.
• Represent the IRC professionally while on the road.
• Deliver and collect items from warehouses and guest houses.
• Serve as the focal point for Nova Poshta correspondence handling.
• Perform additional tasks as assigned by management.

Required profile

• Valid driving licence with at least two years of professional driving experience.
• No road‑safety related fines or convictions.
• Ability to pass the IRC driving test and basic computer proficiency.
• English speaking ability is desirable.
• Capacity to work unsupervised and follow IRC vehicle policies.

Required skills

• Thorough knowledge of road rules and regulations.
• Understanding of vehicle operation and components (including 4x4 and manual transmission).
• Safe driving techniques.
• Routine vehicle maintenance skills.
• Familiarity with HF, VHF and satellite communications equipment (or ability to learn quickly).
