About the role
The City of Windhoek is seeking a Chief Engineer to lead its Bulk Water and Wastewater Division. This senior position is responsible for ensuring reliable production and supply of potable water, effective collection and treatment of wastewater, and the delivery of irrigation water across the municipality. The role involves strategic planning, resource allocation, and ensuring compliance with environmental standards.
Key responsibilities
- Manage the Bulk Water and Wastewater Division, overseeing all operational activities.
- Supervise production and distribution of portable (potable) water to the city.
- Oversee collection, treatment and disposal of all municipal wastewater.
- Coordinate production and distribution of irrigation water for city use.
- Provide sanitation services to informal settlements.
- Conduct investigations and research related to water and wastewater management.
- Advise internal and external stakeholders on technical and regulatory matters.
