About the role
The International Rescue Committee is seeking a Case Aide to provide direct logistical support for newly arrived refugees. This six‑month, full‑time position assists clients with transportation, orientation, and connection to essential services.
Key responsibilities
- Transport clients to appointments and deliver necessary supplies.
- Pick up refugees from the airport, escort them home, provide basic safety orientation and welcome food.
- Conduct public‑transportation orientation sessions.
- Provide interpretation services for clients and IRC staff.
- Assist in linking clients with appropriate social, health, and housing services.
- Coordinate temporary and permanent housing arrangements with the Logistics team.
- Report client updates to the Logistics Manager and perform other assigned duties.
Required profile
- High school diploma preferred; Bachelor’s degree in social work or related field preferred.
- Minimum one year of relevant experience, preferably with refugee or immigrant populations.
- Willingness to work varied hours, including nights and weekends.
- Strong communication skills in a multicultural environment; fluent English and proficiency in at least one client language (e.g., Burmese, Arabic, Spanish, etc.).
- Valid driver’s license and access to a personal vehicle.
Required skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Ability to use internet and digital tools for data entry, research, and problem‑solving.
