Vehicle Assistant

About the role

The Vehicle Assistant supports the efficient loading, transport, and unloading of furniture and food products, ensuring safety, quality, and compliance with cold‑chain requirements. You will work closely with the dispatch team and customers to guarantee accurate deliveries.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain vehicles in a clean, tidy condition at all times.
• Verify cargo against invoices and route sheets for accuracy and quality.
• Load trucks to prevent damage and preserve the cold chain.
• Unload the correct stock at each customer location.
• Report any safety or environmental concerns promptly.
• Handle cash, cheques, and paperwork accurately, adhering to payment terms.
• Identify and communicate opportunities for process improvement.

Required profile

• Minimum Grade 10 education; Grade 12 preferred.
• Ability to communicate and write in English.
• Physical fitness to lift heavy objects and work under pressure.
• Attention to detail, strong people skills, and a team‑player attitude.
• Willingness to work overtime and meet tight deadlines.
