Technical Specialist

About the role

The Technical Specialist will deliver independent engineering services on multidisciplinary road and civil infrastructure projects in Namibia. Reporting to the Section Manager, the role supports planning, design, delivery and close‑out while ensuring quality, client satisfaction and commercial success.

Key responsibilities

• Produce high‑quality civil and road designs, drawings and BIM models using Autodesk Civil 3D and other CAD platforms.
• Prepare clear technical reports and documentation that meet presentation standards.
• Review and take professional responsibility for the work of engineers and technicians, including site inspections for compliance.
• Support project budgeting, resource planning and contract administration, including variation orders and claim assessments.
• Supervise and coordinate sub‑consultants and small project teams, providing mentorship to junior staff.
• Engage with clients and stakeholders, presenting technical solutions and contributing to bid preparation.

Required profile

• Demonstrated expertise in civil infrastructure structural design and road engineering (geometric design, pavement engineering, construction).
• Proven experience with BIM coordination and design delivery.
• Ability to manage project documentation, quality assurance processes and contract compliance.
• Strong supervisory skills for engineers, technicians and sub‑consultants.
