Stores Assistant

About the role

The Stores Assistant supports daily warehouse operations, ensuring that goods are handled safely, stored correctly, and dispatched on time. This role is essential for maintaining product quality, especially for temperature‑sensitive items, and for supporting the overall supply‑chain efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Report any safety or environmental concerns promptly.
• Keep the warehouse clean and organized at all times.
• Load trucks to prevent damage and maintain the cold chain for perishable products.
• Verify that the correct stock is loaded for each customer and complete all required paperwork.
• Identify and communicate opportunities for process improvement.
• Pack pallets correctly when entering the store and ensure proper stock rotation to avoid expiry.
• Conduct regular stock‑takes and perform general operational duties as needed.

Required profile

• Ability to communicate effectively in English and Afrikaans.
• Physical fitness to lift heavy objects and work in a fast‑paced environment.
• Meticulous attention to detail and ability to work under pressure and tight deadlines.
• Willingness to work overtime and assist colleagues when required.
• Good reading and writing skills, with strong people skills and teamwork orientation.
