Store Manager – Cash and Carry

About the role

The Store Manager is accountable for overall leadership, operational performance and financial sustainability of the Cash and Carry store in Windhoek. The role drives sales, margin, profitability, customer service and people objectives while ensuring compliance and accurate reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Manage sales and margin mix, monitor P&L and control expenses.
• Oversee store budgeting, cash flow, working capital and customer credit.
• Develop and execute pricing strategy, negotiate with suppliers and manage top‑customer categories.
• Conduct competitor analysis, implement promotions and ensure merchandising standards.
• Maintain accurate finance administration, record keeping and data reporting.
• Recruit, train and performance‑manage staff, ensuring compliance with HR and safety policies.
• Build and sustain relationships with suppliers, central services, and customers.
• Monitor shrinkage, stock levels and safety standards.

Required profile

• Minimum Grade 12; diploma or degree advantageous.
• 3+ years of management experience, preferably 5‑10 years in FMCG wholesale/retail.
• Proven experience in store core operations and financial acumen.
• Strong analytical ability, attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook.
