Site Administrator & Safety Watcher – Petrochemical Projects

About the role

We are seeking a dual‑function Site Administrator & Safety Watcher to support upcoming petrochemical projects across South Africa and Namibia. The role combines administrative, procurement and HR support with active safety monitoring to ensure smooth site operations and strict compliance with ISO and HSE standards.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain accurate project records, filing systems and documentation for internal and external audits.
• Prepare and submit safety checklists, compliance logs and administrative reports aligned with ISO 45001, ISO 14001 and HSE requirements.
• Monitor high‑risk activities (confined spaces, hot work, work at heights) and enforce permit‑to‑work, isolation, LOTO and PPE procedures.
• Support emergency response, track site incidents and report hazards, non‑conformances or deviations promptly.
• Carry out procurement tasks, coordinate material logistics and manage office supplies under the Construction Manager’s supervision.
• Assist with site HR duties such as attendance tracking, induction records and staff documentation.

Required profile

• Matric (Grade 12) or equivalent.
• Recognised SHE Representative training (MERSETA, CETA, HWSETA or equivalent).
• First Aid, Firefighting and Emergency Response training.
• Valid Working at Heights and Confined Space Entry certificates; driver’s licence.
• 1‑3 years combined experience in site administration or safety watching within petrochemical, oil & gas or heavy‑industrial environments.
