Senior CNC Machinist / Programmer

About the role

We are seeking a senior CNC Machinist/Programmer to join our manufacturing team in Walvis Bay. The role involves interpreting technical drawings, setting up and operating CNC equipment, and ensuring high‑quality parts are produced efficiently.

Key responsibilities

• Interpret technical drawings and specifications to define machining requirements.
• Set up, program, and operate CNC mills, lathes, and other computer‑controlled machines.
• Adjust tooling, work‑holding, and machine parameters to optimise performance.
• Monitor production rates, maintain quality standards, and perform in‑process inspections.
• Inspect finished parts using CMMs, dial gauges, and thread gauges, recording results accurately.
• Carry out post‑machining finishing such as polishing, deburring, and chamfering.
• Maintain and troubleshoot CNC equipment, diagnosing and resolving issues.
• Mentor and supervise junior machinists, providing training and ensuring safety compliance.
• Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and shop staff to improve processes and meet deadlines.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a senior CNC machinist or programmer.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Strong problem‑solving skills for equipment troubleshooting.
• Experience training and supervising junior staff.
• Commitment to safety and quality standards.

Required skills

• CNC milling and turning operation.
• CNC programming and parameter adjustment.
