Manager, Quality Assurance – Tourism Sector

About the role

The Namibia Tourism Board is seeking a Manager of Quality Assurance to lead the development, implementation and continuous improvement of its quality assurance framework for the tourism sector. The role is based at the Head Office in Windhoek and reports to senior management, ensuring that tourism establishments meet national and international standards.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement and monitor the QA framework, including star grading schemes and regulatory guidelines aligned with the NTB Act and international standards.
• Lead inspections, enforce compliance, and coordinate legal actions for non‑compliant operators.
• Oversee training programmes and capacity‑building initiatives with educational institutions to raise industry quality standards.
• Maintain databases of licensed and graded establishments, analyse feedback and produce regular compliance reports for executive management.
• Represent NTB on regulatory committees, manage stakeholder communication and promote Namibia as a quality tourism destination.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Tourism Management, Quality Management, Business Administration or related field (NQF Level 7); postgraduate qualification is an advantage.
• 5–8 years of experience in tourism regulation, quality standards or industry compliance, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
• Valid Code B driver’s licence.

Required skills

• Expertise in quality‑assurance frameworks and compliance inspection procedures.
• Knowledge of grading, licensing and certification processes for tourism establishments.
